One of the challenges for community sport is retaining female athletes and this problem is particularly true in Water Polo when athletes age up to mid-late teens and the costs increase. We are aiming to try and support our female athletes by subsidising some of the cost of their swimming costumes, which cost more than twice that as male swimmers. This initiative may attract new athletes to the sport and retain those that find the cost of equipment getting too high.
After the National Leadership Forum, meeting Jeanette Allom-Hill, and the impressive speech made by Raw Impact, I have been called to action. I seek to serve the community of Cambodia and provide support and help back to them.
Canberra North RSL sub branch will use the funds donated to put towards the construction of a Gunghalin memorial.
